Margaret Klann

Margaret Klann was the coach at Arizona State Univesrity from 1963 to 1976. The NAA established the Collegiate Division through the leadership of Coach Klann in 1972. In 1966, she founded the United States Intercollegiate Archery Championships (USIAC) that continue to this day, as well as starting the Collegiate All-American Team. Coach Klann died in September 2000, and was called by many, ‘The Mother of Collegiate Archery’. There two excellent articles about Margaret at the ASU website entitled, "First USIAC 1967" and "Margaret Klann Selected Head Coach"An award is presented each year in her name to the collegiate archery coach of the year. The award is voted on and presented at each year's USIAC.
