Annual Board Meeting Notes

Each year, a general meeting is held that includes all coaches and athlete representatives from the clubs participating at USIACs. This general meeting is held to address issues and give input to the College Archery Program’s (CAP) board of directors. Appointments and elections for the board take place at this meeting, as well. This year, appointments for historian, publicist, and registrar were up for reappointment, as well as election of the North and South regional representatives. There were other resignations from board positions this year. Nikki Stull resigned as registrar in February 2007. Nikki has served in this position for a number of years, and will continue as the Head Coach of Biola University. Greg Redhouse stepped down as West Region representative as he ends his coaching career with Dine’ College and embarks on new endeavors. Greg’s presence will be missed not only by the Dine’ archers, but many of the coaches as well. Lorretta Sinclair chose to not continue as publicist, ending her 2-year appointment and opening the position for others to participate in the CAP. As Chairman of CAP, Kari Granville will nominate individuals to the appointed positions, which then requires a majority confirmation vote by the Coaches and representatives. Mel Leach was appointed as historian. Kari also accepted Mel Leach as the volunteer to fill in the remaining year of the West Regional Representative. Hopefully, next year a full vote amongst west region coaches can take place and a representative will be elected. James Corral of University of Texas was voted and confirmed as the South Region representative; and Norm Graham was voted and confirmed for the North Region Representative. There were no volunteers for Registrar and Publicist. Those positions remain open to any college coach who would like to participate in either capacity.

It has been an honor to work with the CAP board of directors. More importantly, it has been an honor to work on behalf of the All-Academic Archery Team, the All-American’s and the college archers overall. I have learned a lot and value the time I was able to work as the publicist. I hope that the efforts as publicist including creating an official college website, re-establishing sponsorships for the All-American’s, developing the All-American poster, gaining new sponsorship for the New Archer of the Year and All-Academics will continue. It is a privilege to have been able to be a part of CAP.

Sincerely,

Lorretta Sinclair
